NWBC understands the synergy between bird control and wildlife control and habitat management at airports. Our staff are highly trained and experienced and will work with you to ensure a seamless service.

We cover all aspects of airport bird control and wildlife control including bird strike risk assessment, bird strike risk mitigation documents, bird control management planning, 13 kilometre surveys, general airfield grass and bird audits, risk assessments and method statements.

Our airport bird control services include all other land and airside management requirements, from habitat surveys to soil analysis and grass management to snow and ice clearing. We also provide, maintain and hire ground service equipment including tugs, aircraft de-icers and agricultural machinery.

In addition, we have developed a complete airfield auditing application. This iPad based programme allows airfield staff to monitor bird, wildlife and habitat changes. The information can be monitored and used to produce detailed reports by airfield managers from remote locations.

Expert training provided

NWBC provides training to airport staff in the following disciplines:

  • Airport bird control
  • Firearms and pyrotechnics
  • Aircraft de-icing
  • Runway snow and ice clearing
  • Airfield ground services equipment and agricultural machine operations

Our qualified PTLLS trainers can carry out training at your airport or your staff can attend our training facilities at airports in the North West or South of England. Courses are run for airport bird control operators and supervisors and are of two days’ duration for those with airport experience. There are discounts for six students or more. An additional half-day should be added if airfield driving and radio experience training is required. We also offer a half-day course for ATCOs.
